What the French Ministry of Culture records

De l'ancien château médiéval détruit lors de la reconstruction de l'édifice moderne, a subsisté un terre-plein carré, bordé de douves, qui a conservé les bases talutées de deux tours d'angle au nord-est et au sud-est. La nouvelle demeure a été élevée à l'ouest de ce terre-plein, sans doute au début du 18e siècle, selon un plan en U. Un corps de logis rectangulaire est flanqué au nord-est et au sud-est de deux ailes en retour d'équerre. En 1875, le corps central a été doublé en profondeur et deux pavillons ont été construits au nord-ouest et au sud-ouest, transformant ainsi un château ancien en une demeure plus fastueuse. Du 19e siècle date aussi la construction de dépendances dans l'ancienne basse-cour du château.
