What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut élevé au 14e et 15e siècle par Jacquelim Trousseau puis par son fils Jacques. Seule une tour qui flanquait le château au sud-est subsiste. Elevée sur plan carré, cette tour renferme, au rez-de-chaussée, la chapelle. La tour comprend deux salles superposées au-dessus de cette chapelle, et une au-dessous. La chapelle est voûtée sur croisée d'ogives. Les nervures retombent sur des culots ornés de personnages. La voûte et les murs sont ornés de fresques (Couronnement de la Vierge, Sainte Trinité, Evangélistes, Jugement dernier, Crucifixion...). Dans le mur nord, un couloir conduisait aux latrines portées en encorbellement à l'extérieur.
