Les caractères architecturaux du château placent sa construction dans le dernier quart du 15ème siècle. Cette maison forte a conservé son organisation intérieure, en dépit des travaux de restauration exécutés vers 1950. Le grand corps de logis, implanté à proximité de la grosse tour, a peut-être intégré des équipements défensifs du château. Les communs et les bâtiments d’exploitation s’organisent de manière rationnelle, autour d’une vaste cour. Modernisés au 19ème siècle, ils témoignent du renouveau de l’agriculture dans ce territoire sous la Restauration.
