What the French Ministry of Culture records
Ce parc constitue un élément majeur des parcs à la française du 17e et du 18e siècle. Il a été aménagé en plusieurs étapes par les seigneurs d'Ognon, et a conservé une partie de son tracé (l'allée du Mail) et de ses fabriques (les Gloriettes ornées des statues des Vertus) du début du 17e siècle. Entre 1676 et 1723, aménagement, peut-être sur les dessins ou les conseils de Le Nôtre, du parterre, du miroir d'eau avec son embarcadère et les statues des Quatre Parties du Monde et du bosquet des Saisons avec ses statues. La cour d'honneur de l'ancien château détruit au début de ce siècle est ornée de statues de moindres proportions.
