To make a day of it

Château de Pontarmé stands in Pontarmé (Oise), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 16th century, 20th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

At the northern edge of Pontarmé, in the Oise department, this 14th century château is recognisable above all by its fortified gatehouse and the moat still surrounding the whole structure, forming an island. It stands facing the meadows of the Thève valley, at the edge of the Chantilly forest. The history of the lordship, tied over several centuries to the Bouteiller de Senlis, de Lorris and de Chalon families, makes it a place whose interest lies as much in the setting as in the surviving structure.
