What the French Ministry of Culture records
Petit château construit vers 1560 par Jean Bullant pour le connétable Anne de Montmorency ; au premier étage, appartements des princes de Condé, décorés aux 17e et 18e siècles ; au rez-de-chaussée, appartement du duc d'Aumale, décoré au 19e siècle. Jeu de Paume construit au 18e siècle. Grand château reconstruit à la fin du 19e siècle (rasé à la Révolution) par Honoré Daumet pour abriter les collections du duc d'Aumale, qui légua son domaine à l'Institut de France en 1886.
