To make a day of it

Château de Nanteuil stands in Nanteuil-le-Haudouin (Oise), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

The château de Nanteuil, once standing in Nanteuil-le-Haudouin in the Oise region, was torn down in 1794 by order of the Revolution after its owner, the Prince de Condé, went into exile abroad. Of this medieval and Renaissance estate, reshaped in particular by the Guise and then the Schomberg families in the 17th century, only two pavilions and the retaining wall of the terraces connecting them remain today. Visitors come less to see a château than to glimpse a surviving architectural fragment of a domain once visited by kings François I and Henri II.
