To make a day of it

Château d'Assy stands in Ouilly-le-Tesson (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, fourth quarter of the 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Ouilly-le-Tesson, the Château d'Assy combines a 16th century manor with a neoclassical building erected in 1788 for the Marquise d'Assy. The house is notable for its Corinthian columns on the facade, an unusual choice for a Lower Normandy residence of that period. A seigneurial chapel dating from the early 16th century, restored in the 19th century, stands apart from the main courtyard.
