What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château-Couvert se limitait, au 13e siècle, à une tour de défense protégeant les marais avoisinants. L'édifice se dresse sur un terre-plein rectangulaire ceint de douves et présente un plan en U. Les douves sont entourées de parapet et de balustres sur cour. L'élévation postérieure du corps de logis central s'ouvre sur une terrasse. L'aile droite, plus étroite, abrite une chapelle refaite au 19e siècle. Des arcatures Renaissance, aujourd'hui bouchées, devaient donner sur une galerie. La partie la plus ancienne (tour carrée, escalier en vis et baies 15e) se trouve dans l'angle est. Le corps de logis central conserve des salons fin 18e et un escalier en pierre avec rampe en fer forgé de 1774.
