At Carnoët, on a spur overlooking the confluence of the Aulne river and the Landeren stream, the Rospellem motte preserves the layout of a medieval stronghold. The conical mound, about fifteen metres high, stands out for its dry moat and for the adjoining bailey, enclosed by an earthen bank. On top, stone remains hint at a masonry structure that no longer stands. The whole site survives in notably good condition and can still be read as a complete defensive complex.
