La grange est du 16e siècle, tandis que le corps de logis principal est de la fin du 16e siècle, et l'aile droite, du début du 17e siècle. Le château témoigne d'un retour à l'architecture défensive suscité par les guerres de Religion. L'édifice devait former corps central dans le plan primitif, avec une tourelle d'escalier, une échauguette, et des mâchicoulis sur le pignon sud. Un second pavillon servait au départ de métairie.
