Château de Kerjean stands in Saint-Vougay (Finistère), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 18th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

La construction du château actuel commence probablement vers 1542 et n'est sans doute pas achevée à la fin du siècle. On y décèle une influence de Philibert de l'Orme. Bâti sur un plan quadrangulaire, il est doté de remparts et de quatre tours d'angle qui attestent de son rôle militaire, par ailleurs mal connu. Des travaux effectués au début du 18e siècle sont suivis par une dégradation et une ruine progressives après 1755 (destruction du pavillon nord-est) , aggravée par les déprédations révolutionnaires. Préservé à peu près au cours du 19e siècle, le château de Kerjean est acquis par l'Etat et classé monument historique en 1911. Il abrita le Musée breton qui a fermé dans les années 2000.
