What the French Ministry of Culture records
La chapelle de Maillé fait partie de l'ensemble du château de Maillé, classé en 1981. A l'époque, la chapelle n'avait pas été présentée. L'histoire de cette chapelle est particulièrement originale : elle a succédé à l'ancienne chapelle, construite près du manoir de Coatseizploué par Tanguy de Kermavan, grâce à une autorisation de Clément VII. En 1789, elle est vendue comme bien national et rachetée par la belle-mère du propriétaire, Nicolas de Cadeville. A son retour d'émigration, celui-ci constate que la chapelle est totalement en ruine, et décide de la remplacer. Il choisit une grange du 17e siècle en bel appareil, à quatre pans de toiture. Il en supprime un en élevant le pignon, et l'ancienne grange devient chapelle. C'est donc un bâtiment tout à fait original, qui a en grande partie conservé son aspect rural et possède une très belle charpente du 17e siècle.
