In Sibiril, in the Finistère region, Kérouzéré castle is described as the only fifteenth century fortress still open to visitors in the department. Built between 1425 and 1458 by Jean II de Kérouzéré, it retains towers and a wall walk that recall its defensive role, notably during the 1590 siege of the League wars. The visit, limited to the ground floor, allows visitors to see Breton military architecture of the period in about an hour.
