What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ray était un fief relevant de la châtellenie de Sainte-Julitte. Le château est constitué par un bâtiment rectangulaire élevé d'un rez-de-chaussée, de deux étages et d'un comble, et épaulé à ses angles par des contreforts amortis d'échauguettes. Sur la façade nord-ouest fait saillie une tour polygonale contenant l'escalier en vis. Les percements ont été agrandis au 17e siècle et leurs meneaux ont disparu. Le colombier cylibdrique subsiste à l'ouest du château.
