At Saint-Avertin, on the edge of Tours, the manoir de la Sagerie has passed through the hands of several families from the Tours area and still shows a well-preserved 17th-century architectural ensemble. The main draw is its monumental gateway, with a round-arched opening and a curved pediment resting on two Doric pilasters, which opens onto the courtyard of honour. The surrounding wall, marked by round turrets at each corner, encloses the main house flanked by two pavilions.
