Le château est mentionné à partir de 1662. La façade donnant sur le vignoble est encadrée de deux tours. L'une, circulaire, supporte un dôme de pierre et abrite un pigeonnier. L'autre, carrée, est coiffée d'un toit en pavillon. L'édifice se compose d'un corps de logis principal, d'une galerie en retour d'équerre et d'une chapelle semi-troglodyte en retour d'équerre. Les campagnes de construction s'échelonnent du Moyen Age au 19e siècle. La phase la plus importante et la plus significative remonte à la seconde moitié du 16e siècle et a permis d'unifier plusieurs bâtiments. La galerie est l'un des éléments les plus significatifs de cette époque. Le contexte des guerres de Religion a dû contribuer à asseoir un système de défense global. Chaque point de passage est protégé. Une imposante tour circulaire et de multiples petites canonnières complètent ce dispositif.
