What the French Ministry of Culture records
Château reconstruit à partir de 1439 (donjon de 1439, chapelle de 1444) par Bertrand de Beauveau, conseiller du roi René d'Anjou. Demeure agrandie aux 17e (aile occidentale et pigeonnier-porche) et 18e siècles. Au début du 19e siècle, le château devient la propriété des d'Aviau de Ternay. Importants travaux de restauration entre 1861 et 1884 sous la conduite de l'architecte Ojam (écuries construites de 1861 à 1867, puis aménagement des salons et reprise des maçonneries, destruction du pigeonnier, des communs, comblement des fossés...). Tour ronde à mâchicoulis, donjon pentagonal. Plan du château en quadrilatère irrégulier. Chapelle ornée d'un décor sculpté de grande qualité.
