Locally known as the Teusserschlößchen or Badschlößchen, it is sometimes mistakenly called Wasserschloss Lautereck, a name that actually belongs to a different building in Sulzbach an der Murr. First recorded in 1623 during repair works, it was long part of a spa establishment before passing into private hands. Its isolated silhouette on the water, surrounded by woods, struck several nineteenth century writers as peculiar.
