To make a day of it
Burg Stettenfels stands in Untergruppenbach (Landkreis Heilbronn), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 10th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Stettenfels Castle rises above the village of Untergruppenbach, in the Heilbronn district of Baden-Württemberg, with origins going back to the 10th century. Having changed hands repeatedly over the centuries, it owes its present appearance largely to the Fugger family, who had it rebuilt as a Renaissance residence in the late 16th century. Visitors find a triangular courtyard ringed by the castle's living quarters, a notable staircase tower, and a broad moat flanked by three defensive towers. Still privately owned and inhabited, the castle today hosts concerts, private events and an annual medieval festival.
