Burg Staufenberg stands on a rocky spur north of the village of Staufenberg, part of the municipality of Durbach, overlooking the surrounding vineyards. Its origins go back to the 10th century, although no visible masonry survives from its earliest centuries. Remodelled from 1832 onwards in Romantic style by the margraves of Baden, it now houses a wine estate, while its oldest section still contains remnants of the hall building and the keep. A terrace on the former western platform gives views over the surrounding countryside.
