Burg Husen stands in Hausach (Ortenaukreis), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Recorded dating: 13th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Husen Castle stands in ruins on the Schlossberg, the rocky outcrop overlooking the town of Hausach in the Ortenaukreis district of Baden-Württemberg. An earlier stronghold, first recorded in 1246 as "Castrum Husen", already occupied the site before passing from the House of Zähringen to the counts of Freiburg, and later to the Fürstenberg family through an 1303 marriage. Count Heinrich VI had the old fortress torn down in 1453 to build a larger castle, and it is the remaining walls of that structure which still rise above the town today. Hausach itself grew up at the foot of the hill, around the older village church.
