Seeschloss Monrepos stands in Ludwigsburg (Landkreis Ludwigsburg), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Seeschloss Monrepos stands on an artificial lake north of Ludwigsburg, part of a landscaped estate linked by an avenue to Schloss Favorite. Built as a hunting and pleasure retreat for the dukes and later kings of Württemberg, it still shows the layered history of Carl Eugen's baroque scheme and the neoclassical remodelling ordered by King Friedrich I in the early 19th century. The surrounding park, with its two artificial islands and copies of the Medici lions facing the garden front, is open for walking, but the palace itself remains private property of the House of Württemberg and cannot be visited inside.
