Schloss Weiler stands in Weiler, a district of the municipality of Obersulm, on the site of a former moated castle that served from the Middle Ages as the seat of the lords of Weiler. The present building, erected between 1588 and 1590 for Dietrich von Weiler, still shows a portal bearing the family coat of arms dated 1590, along with a corner tower and a walled courtyard with a defensive walkway and battlements on its western side. The adjoining park, laid out in the mid nineteenth century, contains a notable horse chestnut tree with a trunk over six metres in girth, one of the oldest of its kind in Germany.
