To make a day of it

Schloss Türnich stands in Kerpen (Rhein-Erft-Kreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Türnich stands in Kerpen, in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, on the site of a moated stronghold first recorded at the end of the ninth century. The present building, erected between 1757 and 1766 for Carl Ludwig Anton von Rolshausen, follows the model of a French-style maison de plaisance and was later extended in the 1790s with an English landscape garden. Since 1850 the estate has belonged to the von und zu Hoensbroech family, who added a richly decorated neo-Romanesque chapel dedicated to Saint Elisabeth in the late nineteenth century. The main house, closed since 1979 because of damage caused by falling groundwater levels, is being restored in stages, while the surrounding park remains open to visitors.
