Schloss Michelfeld stands in Angelbachtal, in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, on the site of a moated residence built in the 16th century by the lords of Gemmingen. Destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in the 1660s, then substantially altered in the 18th century and again in 1873, giving it its present appearance. Surrounded by a park, the building went through many different uses over the centuries before being bought and restored by private owners.
