To make a day of it

Schloss Horneck stands in Gundelsheim (Landkreis Heilbronn), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Horneck overlooks the Neckar valley at Gundelsheim, in the Landkreis Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg. Founded around 1200 by the lords of Horneck, it passed to the Teutonic Order in the 13th century and became one of the order's three principal seats, alongside Marienburg and Riga. Destroyed by rebelling peasants in 1525 and later rebuilt, it was remodelled in the 18th century into a plainer baroque schloss around the surviving medieval keep. It now houses the Heimathaus Siebenbürgen, a cultural centre for the Transylvanian Saxons, with a library and museum.
