To make a day of it

Rathaus Neckarzimmern stands in Neckarzimmern (Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Rathaus of Neckarzimmern occupies the former Neues Schloss of the lords von Gemmingen, a half timbered building erected in 1657 below Burg Hornberg. The family lived there until around 1930, when the municipality took it over in 1932 as its town hall. The present facade, reworked in 1875 in an eclectic style, conceals a much older structure, confirmed by dendrochronological analysis.

  • The building now serves as the town hall and is not set up as a ticketed tourist attraction.
  • The exterior, with its 19th century facade and timber framing, can be seen while walking through the village center of Neckarzimmern.
  • The site lies just below Burg Hornberg, to whose history it is closely tied.
  • No opening hours, prices or accessibility details are available for a formal visit.
