To make a day of it

Schloss Meisdorf stands in Falkenstein/Harz (Landkreis Harz), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 18th century. No visits are on record for this building.

Meisdorf House stands at Falkenstein/Harz, on the edge of the Harz uplands, set within a twelve-hectare park planted with mature trees. Built in the early 18th century for the von der Asseburg family, the complex was later extended and reworked several times, most notably in the 1920s when a tower and a side wing were added. The buildings, now run as a hotel, include the original 1708 house, now a restaurant, and the New Castle, which provides guest rooms. The park still holds an old statue of a roe deer on a pedestal along with its long-established trees.
