Schloss Inching stands in Walting, in the Landkreis Eichstätt, Bavaria, on the banks of the Altmühl river. First recorded in 1055 under the name of the village it belongs to, the building retains remnants of its original structure from the 11th or 12th century, partly resting on Roman foundations. Its present shape comes from two building campaigns led by Eichstätt's court architects, Jakob Engel around 1680 and Gabriel de Gabrieli around 1720, who added the baroque hall with its bay window and onion-domed roof. Since 1919 the estate has remained in the same family, who converted it into a holiday property while preserving the first-floor salon with its stucco ceiling and period textile wallpaper.
