Burg Rieshofen is the ruin of a medieval moated castle on the banks of the Altmühl river at Walting, in the Landkreis Eichstätt, Bavaria. Built around 1290 as the seat of a ministerialis family serving the bishopric of Eichstätt, it still shows a square keep about eighteen metres high along with sections of its outer wall. The tower is known locally as the Hungerturm, after a grim episode from the late seventeenth century. Excavations carried out in 1985 and 1986 uncovered the foundations of the small hall building and allowed part of the moat and its wooden bridge to be restored.
