To make a day of it
Schloss Edesheim stands in Edesheim (Landkreis Südliche Weinstraße), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Edesheim stands on the site of a 14th century moated castle built for the bishops of Speyer, rebuilt in its present form in 1594. Destroyed during the War of the Palatine Succession, it was reconstructed and remained church property until its secularisation in 1804 under Napoleon, after which it passed through various private owners. Its most striking feature is the long, ivy-covered perimeter wall, nearly two kilometres in total length, encircling the building. The site today houses a hotel within the former manorial structure.
