To make a day of it

Riddagsburg stands in Mansfeld (Landkreis Mansfeld-Südharz), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Riddagsburg, more properly Rikdagsburg, refers to the remains of a vanished stronghold near Mansfeld, in the Landkreis Mansfeld-Südharz, in Saxony-Anhalt. The site lies eight kilometres west of the town, near Gorenzen, on a ridge in the Unterharz that slopes gently eastward. Likely founded by Margrave Rikdag of Meissen, it later belonged to Gerbstedt Abbey and then to the Counts of Mansfeld, before being abandoned at the end of the 15th century. Today only an archaeological deserted site remains, with no significant standing structure.
