To make a day of it

Burgstall Walda stands in Ehekirchen (Landkreis Neuburg-Schrobenhausen), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burgstall Walda marks the site of a vanished medieval stronghold at the north-eastern edge of the village of Walda, part of the municipality of Ehekirchen. Probably built in the 15th century by the lords of Kirchheimer, it was destroyed in 1632 during the Thirty Years' War. The site, now built over with a former school and other structures, only retains underground rubble and wall foundations on a mound once surrounded by a water-filled moat, suggesting a moated residence.
