This long three-winged building, arranged around a courtyard with an 18th-century Marian fountain, served as the seat of the von Gumppenberg family, who held the lordship from 1279 until the administrative reform of 1818. Its core dates back to 1683, as shown by the coats of arms carved above the gateways, and its chapel was built in 1691. The north wing remains the dominant structure on Pöttmes's market square today.
