Burgstall Löweneck stands in Nittendorf (Landkreis Regensburg), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Burgstall Löweneck marks the site of a vanished medieval hilltop castle that once stood some 100 metres above the Naab valley on a rocky spur of the Kühberg. Founded after 1250 by the Wittelsbach family, it was destroyed on the orders of King Louis of Bavaria in the early 14th century. What survives today is a defensive ditch, a short stretch of wall possibly from a tower, and buried foundation remains, the whole area now overgrown with woodland.
