Schloss Etterzhausen stands in Nittendorf, Bavaria, on a site with roots going back to the Ottonian period, when a royal estate called Eidrateshusa was recorded there in 977. The present building, a two storey structure with a hipped roof, a rounded central projection and an octagonal domed tower, dates in its core to the late 16th century, under Hans Siegmund von Erlbeck. Around 1800, Baron Georg Friedrich von Dittmer added two classical wings and had the surrounding landscape park redesigned. Long held by a single family, the estate underwent a thorough restoration around the year 2000.
