To make a day of it

Burgruine Aichelberg stands in Aichelberg (Landkreis Göppingen), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Burgruine Aichelberg stands atop the hill of the same name, on the northern edge of the Swabian Jura. The counts of Aichelberg, first recorded around 1210, held a sizeable county there until it passed to the counts of Württemberg around 1350. The stronghold was looted and destroyed in 1525 during the Peasants' War, and its stones were later reused to build the baths at Boll. Little remains to be visited today, though the summit affords a view across the Filder plain to the Stuttgart television tower.
