The Burgruine Hiltenburg sits atop the Schlossberg, 716 metres high, overlooking the Filstal valley above Bad Ditzenbach. First recorded in 1289 as the seat of a bailiff of the Counts of Helfenstein, it became their main residence in 1396 before being destroyed on the orders of Duke Ulrich of Württemberg in 1516. Only sections of wall remain today, secured and restored, alongside a viewing platform looking out over Bad Ditzenbach and the surrounding villages.
