To make a day of it
Burg Waldenstein stands in Rudersberg (Rems-Murr-Kreis), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Waldenstein is a ruined spur castle overlooking the Wieslauf valley, in the hamlet of Waldenstein that belongs to the municipality of Rudersberg. Built around 1200 by the lords of Waldenstein, it retains a shield wall and a two storey stone building whose bossed masonry dates from the Hohenstaufen period. The site passed through many noble and later bourgeois owners over the centuries, until a fire in 1819 destroyed the Renaissance building added in the 16th century. Today the ruins host an inn established on the former castle grounds.
