To make a day of it

Yburg stands in Kernen im Remstal (Rems-Murr-Kreis), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Yburg is a ruined residential castle built into a hillside above the village of Stetten im Remstal, surrounded by well-known vineyards along the Rems valley. Erected in the early 14th century by the Truchsess von Stetten family, it was never designed for defence and today stands as a roughly cube-shaped shell of outer walls, without roof or upper floors. Visitors can still make out the entrance gate, vaulted rooms with narrow windows, and a staircase that once led to the missing upper storeys. The site is reached on foot through the surrounding vineyards and offers open views over Stetten and the valley.
