To make a day of it
Burg Wiesbach stands in Wiesbach (Landkreis Südwestpfalz), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 11th century. No visits are on record for this building.
The Burg Wiesbach is the ruin of a hilltop castle standing on the Schlosskopf, a low hill rising to 320 metres northeast of the village of Wiesbach. No direct records survive to date its construction, but historians place it between 1150 and 1250, likely built to guard a border area of the imperial territory of Kaiserslautern. What remains today is a deep rock-cut ditch and the foundations of a residential tower, uncovered during excavations in 1921. It is a quiet, little-developed ruin rather than a restored showpiece.
