Burg Ockenfels stands in Linz am Rhein (Landkreis Neuwied), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Ockenfels Castle stands on a spur roughly 60 metres above the Rhine, a short distance from the centre of Linz am Rhein. Originally built in the early 13th century as Burg zur Leyen, it was destroyed in 1475 during the Cologne Stiftsfehde war and rebuilt in a romantic revival style between 1924 and 1927 on the surviving medieval foundations. The present three-wing complex includes a keep and two semicircular towers around a courtyard open toward the valley. The building now serves as a corporate showroom and administrative seat, and is not set up as a public visitor attraction.
What to know

- A stretch of the Rheinsteig trail between Unkel and Leubsdorf passes directly by the site.
- Only the exterior and the building's silhouette on its promontory can be viewed from surrounding paths.
- The current structure dates from a 1920s reconstruction rather than the medieval period, despite its appearance.
- No opening hours, admission fees, or accessibility arrangements exist, as the site is not run as a visitor attraction.
