Château reconstruit au 18e siècle par la veuve Raba et ses fils, riches négociants juifs portugais. Il est entouré de jardins sur lesquels s'ouvrent les architectures raffinées de pavillons et de fabriques. Après la guerre de 1870, Albert Ellissen redonne au château et aux jardins toute leur magnificence. Durant la Seconde guerre mondiale, l'occupation du château par les Allemands lui infligent d'importantes mutilations.
