The château du Rouret stands in the Alpes-Maritimes on the site of a fortress destroyed in the 13th century, later rebuilt in Provençal style after 1671. The estate passed through several families, from its sale as confiscated émigré property during the Revolution to its acquisition by the Poniatowski family in 1926. Inside, visitors can note a carved staircase, a gypsum fireplace and painted ceilings from its classical-era decoration.
