To make a day of it

Forteresse troglodyte de Gourdon stands in Gourdon (Alpes-Maritimes), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

On the north-eastern side of the Cavillore plateau, a fortified gateway built of bossed stone marks the entrance to a cliffside troglodyte site above the Loup gorges. Reaching it means following a path that narrows into a ledge running along a drop of several hundred metres, ending on a sloped, dead-end platform where the remains of a bread oven can still be seen. Aside from this gateway and oven, no other structure remains visible today.
