Château du Landin stands in the Eure department, on land marking an old feudal mound where King John of England is said to have stayed. The present building traces back to Abbé de Boisemont, who had the park planted and a first château built around 1760, before the Marquis de Chaumont-Quitry, chamberlain to Napoleon III, gave it its current appearance between 1850 and 1860, including the rounded, domed front pavilion. The park, outbuildings and medieval mound all belong to the protected estate.
