Le château est entouré d'une douve franchie par un pont donnant accès à une cour d'honneur dont trois côtés sont construits. La partie centrale est un massif pavillon carré faisant porche, rappelant le château primitif du 16e siècle par son volume. De part et d'autre s'étendent deux ailes basses dont les fenêtres sont surmontées de frontons triangulaires. La façade sud du château a été reprise au 18e siècle, comme l'indique le mouvement curviligne des fenêtres. Dans l'axe de l'aile se trouve une chapelle de plan semblable aux autres pavillons. Seul un clocheton au centre de sa toiture la différencie. L'intérieur conserve plusieurs cheminées intéressantes. Ce château devint très tôt la résidence des seigneurs de Romilly. S'il subsiste des éléments du 16e siècle, l'aspect actuel date de la fin du 16e et du 17e siècle. La partie centrale a été remaniée en 1762-1763.
