Edifice d'origine médiévale occupant un site d'éperon barré. Le château originel, du 14e siècle, est composé d'un donjon et d'un logis en L dont certains murs ont conservé des créneaux murés. L'ensemble a été englobé au 16e siècle dans une seconde enceinte dont le plan en U se referme sur un fossé sec de la même époque. Le donjon perdit ses deux derniers étages à la Révolution. Par la suite, le château avec ses communs fut transformé en domaine agricole mais périclita après la crise du phylloxéra. Transformé en préventorium puis en centre de détention.
