In Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot, the château de Ferrassou stands above the river Lot with two fifteenth-century towers, one square and one round, joined to a manor house reworked over several centuries. The main draw is the stone spiral staircase inside the square tower, crowned by a palm-vaulted gothic ceiling whose ribs rest on carved corbels. The round tower, stripped of its roof during the Revolution, still shows Renaissance carving on three of its faces. The estate, a private property still lived in, passed through the Lustrac, Masparault and Charbalié families before its recent restoration.
